our Mission
The mission of Authentic Connections is to create safe spaces for healing, honest conversation, and personal growth—so more people can live with peace, clarity, and purpose.
About hattie hawks
Hattie Hawks is a storyteller, coach, and advocate for healing through human connection. After more than a decade in broadcast journalism, she made the decision to step away from the news industry and step into her own healing—navigating complex trauma, divorce, neurodivergence, motherhood, and chronic illness.
Her desire to serve others was sparked early on by her late grandmother, Janet Cheek, who helped create the Lighthouse Youth Center in Oxford, PA—a safe haven where young people could learn about faith and build meaningful human connection. That same spirit of compassion guides Hattie’s work today. Through Authentic Connections, she’s dedicated to creating spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and understood as they move through big emotions, life transitions, and the process of healing their inner wounds.
Blending her journalistic roots with trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and somatic tools, Hattie helps people reconnect with their stories and reclaim their voice. Whether in a coaching session, workshop, or collaborative media project, she meets people where they are—with honesty, empathy, and a belief in the power of showing up as your full, authentic self.
